On The Road to 1.0

posted by lbb_mike on Nov 8th, 2007 at 11:56 am

We haven’t written much about our beta program. It’s something we regret not addressing in more detail. Beta is a period in our software release cycle during which people can begin using the program. It is the final stage of development before completing the final product, in this case BizBlog version 1.0. LocalBizBlogs was in private beta for most of 2007 and recently made a soft transition to public beta in September.

The goal of the beta program is to build out remaining BizBlog features, receive user feedback, and fix bugs we discover along the way. Getting your feedback is critical as we make adjustments and improve the service. After all, this platform is being designed for you.

We’re on target for an early 2008 release of version 1.0. Packages and pricing will be announced at that time. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. There is much to build in the months ahead.

BizBlogs are FREE to use now during the beta program. All beta users will get a bonus credit for showing their support in this critical phase - so sign up before we go 1.0!

Behind The Scenes
Tucked away in a basement full of computers, here we are working on a new BizBlog tool soon to be released. This photo was taken during Kris’ recent trip to the Bay Area for an intensive weekend of programming.

We’re a small team with big plan: empowering local small businesses in communities around the nation with web tools that amplify their presence and reach.
