LUNCHEON HOSTED TO BENEFIT THE ST. SAVA SUMMER CAMP

posted by stgeorge on May 14th, 2013 at 9:27 pm

On Palm Sunday, April 28, 2013, our St. George Kolo hosted a Lenten Luncheon to benefit the St. Sava Monastery Summer Camp in Libertyville, IL.  This Camp has been hosting our children for many generations and nourshing them to understand their Orthodox faith and Serbian culture, and also creating lifetime friendships.  As economic times have been tough, our hard working Kolo Sisters were eager to step in to raise some money to help continue this beautiful summer program for our children.  Our Chairwoman, Sladjana Keric, did an outstanding job planning this event.  The menu focused on Lenten recipes from our St. George Kolo Cookbook.  All the proceeds from this luncheon will go towards the St. Sava Camp.  Our Church also hosted Presanctified Divine Liturgy the Friday prior, April 26th and all donations made at this event will also go towards the camp.  We are proud to say that a check for over $3,000.00 will be delivered on May 18th in Libertyville, as the KSS Sisters there host their slava and camp kick off fundraiser.  Thank you to everyone for their generous donations!  May God Bless You!  Please enjoy this video of some highlights from the luncheon and some photos from camp so that everyone can see how much our children benefit from this camp.
