Honoring The Memory of Bishop Peter-20 Year Parastos Oct. 5th
Many of us still fondly refer to him as "Father" Peter, and though he only served St. Sava for 8 years, he is remembered as a great Spiritual Father. St. Sava Church will honor Bishop Peter's memory on Sunday, October 5th. Father Tom Kazich and Father Marko will serve the 20 Year Parastos during the Divine Liturgy, concluding around noon. Everyone will have the opportuniy to travel to East Chicago in time to attend the "Mothers Against Hunger" Humanitarian Banquet at 1:00 p.m.
The Serbian Historical Society will host a memorial exhibit in the South Wing Social Center after the Parastos. Bishop Peter's personal collection of photographs was presented to us by Father Tom Kazich. Also included is a large scrapbook filled with letters from children of St. Sava expressing their sadness after hearing the news that "Father" Peter was moving to Oakland. These drawings and letters were written in 1970, and we are so grateful to Father Tom for turning over these special keepsakes to us. The memorial tribute will be on display for 3 weeks through Sunday, October 19th. Please make every effort to bring your children to view this display and share your fond memories of Bishop Peter and how very special he was to everyone at St. Sava.

Everyone loved Father Peter. It was one of the most saddened events of our churchs history when he left our church.
Father Peter is honored Im sure by everyone who knew him.
To me Father Peter was a Saint and still is!
God Bless Father Peter!
I am so sorry that I can not attend the memorial but I will be attending the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk for my son River.
God Bless everyone!
Ciao...
