Sunday School & Serbian School Classes Start This Sunday, Sept. 14th

posted by dorothyp on Sep 11th, 2008 at 9:15 am

The Sunday School teachers have been busy for weeks preparing classrooms, lessons, and supplies for this year's students. They're very well prepared, now that the St. Sava Learning Center is built and furnished. Many fun activities, outings, and parties are planned, as well as an Attendance Challenge. REGISTRATION starts at 9:30 a.m. this Sunday, just outside the Church Office in the North Wing. The fee is $25 for the first child, and an additional $10 per student, per family. Last year was so much fun, just ask the children! This school year will be even better. Serbian School starts at 12:30 for all age groups. Please be sure to stay for the Sunday Luncheon-the children will be able to eat before Serbian School classes start. Parents and Kumovi, remember the importance of bringing your children to Church and Sunday School. It is your responsibility and choice, and our committed teachers donate their valuable time as they welcome your children.

Pre-School Right Start Enrichment Program starts Friday, September 19th. Still plenty of time to sign up, and you can even Register Sunday at Church. Someone will be available to answer any questions about this program at REGISTRATION this Sunday.

Pre-School Right Start Enrichment Program Now Offered at St. Sava Learning Center

    RIGHT START ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

Dear Parents (and Grandparents),

This fall, St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church is offering a unique opportunity to its members and community parents through its Right Start Enrichment Program. While a structured school year is filled with course studies and formal learning, the Right Start Enrichment Program is geared toward discovering individual learning pursuits of your toddler and pre-schooler through fun and innovative classes.

Some of the classes offered this Fall include arts and crafts, reading and music, languages and sports. These classes allow kids to spend substantial time having fun, making new friends and exploring their interests. They also allow moms, dads (or grandparents and babysitters) to have a little time to themselves, knowing that their children are in a fun and safe environment.

Our primary objective is to offer innovative programs with a variety of topics that both interest and challenge students, while creating a fun and friendly environment that fosters a love of learning. Classes will begin September 15 and run through November 21, 2008. Class size will be limited, allowing each student to receive individual attention from our dedicated staff. We aim for each student to have a memorable and rewarding experience.

Enrollment for the classes begins August 10. Registration forms will be available at the church office or online. Classes are offered at reasonable rates, allowing parents to sign their children up for more than one activity.

We strive to offer the most interesting and popular classes to students and parents. If you have ideas for future classes, feel free to contact us and tell us at Enrichmentprograms@yahoo.com. We are in the process of developing a St. Sava webpage where you can access class information, registration and class updates. Hopefully, it will be up and running by the end of July. In the meantime, we will keep you informed with periodic updates via mail. Registration forms will be available in the church office August 1, 2008.

Attached is a preliminary list of classes and times they are being offered. Take a look at them and write to us with any suggestions that you have. We look forward to seeing you in the Fall!!

SUNDAY SCHOOL REGISTRATION & FIRST DAY OF CLASSES

posted by dorothyp on Aug 25th, 2008 at 11:05 pm

It's time to register your child for Sunday School Classes. Don't miss the opportunity to have your child participate in religious classes and many fun social events. Children will enjoy life-long friendships and memories from their experiences at our St. Sava Church. Parents, grandparents, and Kumovi should remember their responsibilities to providing a religious foundation for their children. The new St. Sava Learning Center is fully remodeled and stocked, and ready to receive the students. We are still looking for volunteer Substitute Teachers (Lesson Plans will be provided) and help for special events.

TEEN CLASSES: Teens (9th grade thru Seniors) will meet EVERY SUNDAY, and we are looking for more teachers at this level to take turns, one Sunday per month. This is an enjoyable class that touches on topics related to lifestyles and concerns of teens.

Registration is SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14th at 9:45 a.m. in front of the Church Office in the north wing. The children should go directly to their classes, which start at 9:45 a.m. every Sunday. Please note that the new start time for class is 9:45 a.m. Fee is $25 for the first child, $10 for each additional student. For additional information or to volunteer, please call Gina Orlich at 462-2584.
