St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church

Serbian Orthodox Church, Merrillville, IN, was established in 1914 in Gary, IN. Divine Liturgy Sundays 10am, Fr. Marko Matic officiating; formerly served by Very Rev. Jovan Todorovich, retired after 36 years. Liturgical responses by Karageorge Choir. Sunday School starts 9:45am. in the new St. Sava Learning Center. Serbian School starts at 12:30 during 8-week sessions. Vespers served Tuesdays and Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. Join us, everyone welcome! Folklore dance group and choir always accepting new members. Attend Sunday Luncheons after Liturgy, hosted by families or organizations, serving delicious homemade food and desserts.
South Wing SOCIAL CENTER NOW AVAILABLE for hosting social events, newly renovated and tastefully decorated. Showers, graduation parties, meetings, Skup Svatova, wedding receptions, baptisms, birthdays, and retirements can all be accommodated.

Several families will be hosting this Sunday's Luncheon, and you're in for a special treat! Your hosts are Dragica Trikich, Mirijana and Simo Babich, Mira and Dragan Kostich, and Manda Andrejich. Remember the date, Sunday, May 25th in the South Wing Social Center. Entire proceeds benefit the Church directly, so please attend this wonderfully prepared Luncheon. Pre-School Right Start Enrichment Program at St. Sava Church

First-time ever Pre-school Enrichment Program will be offered to members and the community at the St. Sava Learning Center. Great classes will be offered during the week to help your child develop socially and boost his/her creativity. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to participate. St. Elijah "FRULA" Hosts Folklore Festival

Everyone is invited to attend "Frula"'s Fall Folklore Festival at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22nd. Many guest folklore groups will perform and a dance will follow at St. Elijah Hall, 8700 Taft Street, Merrillville.

St. Sava's 94th Anniversary Celebration - Sunday November 23rd

Join in the celebration of St. Sava Church's 94th Anniversary on Sunday, November 23rd. Divine Liturgy will start at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Memorial Tribute on the South Lawn. The Banquet will start at 1:00 p.m. at St. Elijah's Hall. Keynote Speaker will be Fr. Dennis Pavicevich from Chicago, who has graciously accepted our invitation. Fr. Dusan Bunjevic cannot make the trip for health reasons. Please save this date marking the rich history of our church and honoring our deceased members.
