Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona - Day 1 (Saturday)
A 24 hour race is the ultimate endurance challenge, requiring 4 drivers for every car. Professional car racing is a technical sport. Drivers think in seconds, not minutes. Rain or shine, these cars are on the track, moving as fast as they can till they reach the finish line.
Drivers prepped their cars this morning, making last minute adjustments before they line up on the grid. Two classes of cars race simultaneously: Daytona Prototypes and GT cars. They share the track, adding another layer of difficulty.
Ten minutes into the race, several cars made contact and slid off the track on turn one. Some had problems initially and made desperate pit stops to fix them. The weather was perfect all day and into the evening.

Professional racing relies heavily on technology. Screens display real-time car stats and a live television feed.
