Re: Throw Away Culture
Here is a comment in response to my recent post on What to do with old media and electronics:
"Throw Away Culture" - People need to be made aware of these types of services. We (Americans) make it too easy to throw things out in the trash. Unfortunately for many discarded items there are no markets for the discarded items. In due time there will be fewer outlets for obsolete/discarded electronic waste or any other type of waste. JD
Well JD, I have good news and it's called gigoit.org
Gigoit is an online market place for trading unwanted items in your local community. It's kinda like an eBay for free stuff. A quick review of the site shows you can find many items, like: books, computer parts, electronics, toys, furniture, and even pets!
LocalCooling.com is another interesting tool I found this week. It's an energy saving application for computers running Windows that keeps track of your KWh saved.
